The locations of the 155 new coronavirus cases in Yorkshire

Bradford is still struggling to keep a hold on the number of coronavirus cases in the city after a huge surge over the past 24 hours was recorded.

The city, which is currently under tighter restrictions, recorded 66 new cases in the past 24 hours – the highest of all the places in Yorkshire.

Leeds also saw a notable jump with 33 new cases recorded, while on the other end of the spectrum, Hull saw no new cases announced.

In total, 155 new cases of coronavirus were recorded across the county on a day when there were no COVID deaths announced in any hospitals in Yorkshire.

NHS England revealed earlier today that only one more person had sadly died after testing positive for coronavirus.

The only death to be recorded today in England was at Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust, in the North West.

The patient was 82 years old and had known underlying health conditions.
