On the 27 October, Marshalls Mill will open its doors to the public for a free Halloween ghost hunting tour of Holbeck’s former flax Mill.

Visitors can expect eerie ghost tours by Simply Ghost Nights who will bring with them the latest expert ghost hunting equipment and encourage guests to get involved in seances and table tipping experiments to discover if the 231-year-old building is haunted.

There will be surprises along the way as organisers have hired actors, ball jugglers, stilt walkers and will be serving black popcorn on the night. Fancy dress is also being encouraged.

Please note booking is required for this event if you wish to attend, please email:

The 3 ghost tour times available:

  • 18.30 -19.30pm
  • 19.30 – 20.30pm
  • 20.30- 21.30pm

The ghost tour comes after another successful event earlier in the year as the offices on the estate come back to life following the pandemic. In September, ‘Fiesta at the Foundry’ offered tenants live entertainment, tapas and Sangria at local Spanish restaurant Bomba to build on the community atmosphere between new and existing tenants. The event proved popular with 107 people attending and reinforces reasons why tenants choose to remain in the area.

Christian Wray, Marketing Manager at Spike Digital Marketing, an existing tenant of the historic Mill commented on the event “The Marshall Mill Fiesta was outstanding! – the amazing food from Bomba Paella along with the colourful stilt artists and their astonishing fire breathing skills, certainly brightened up a quiet Tuesday afternoon in Holbeck. This is another one of the many great reasons why Spike relocated to this thriving business community, here in the heart of Leeds city centre. Can’t wait to see what Halloween brings”.

Lydia Jenkins, Marketing Executive at The Alternative Board said “We are relatively new tenants to Marshall’s Mill but have quickly come to enjoy working within this lovely historic building- I had no idea it was haunted! Lisa is great at keeping us up to date with regular notices about what’s happening in the building and the social events that have made us feel a part of this great community. The office is conveniently close to the city, rail station and other venues for events and hospitality and we are looking forward to our time here as the area continues to be developed”.
