Expect a surge of interest in visiting castles with news that TV hit I’m A Celebrity is to be hosted in Wales this year.

The haunted ruins of Gwrych Castle will be the setting for the popular reality show which will be filmed in the UK for the first time instead of the Australian jungle, due to COVID-19 restrictions on travel.

The turreted  Tawstock Castle with a walled garden and set in acres of parkland offers romantic accommodation for eight people. The castle is located near Barnstaple and close to the sandy beaches of north Devon. 

Devizes Castle in Wiltshire once housed important prisoners including Robert Curthose who was the eldest son of William the Conqueror and Hubert de Burgh, the first Earl of Kent. The castle is now available to holidaymakers, offering accommodation to 15 people and eight bedrooms.

If you want accommodation on a larger scale, head to Pentillie Castle on the banks of the River Tamar in Cornwall. The castle can accommodate 22 people, making it the perfect place for weddings or birthday celebrations.
