One new coronavirus death in Yorkshire as a further 12 confirmed

Only one Yorkshire hospital trust recorded a new coronavirus death in the latest figures from NHS England.

Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has reported the death of a patient who tested positive for Covid-19 between 4pm on Sunday and 4pm on Monday.

Bradford has now confirmed 236 coronavirus deaths since the start of the pandemic.

Meanwhile, York has not recorded the death of a coronavirus patient for over a month, with the last confirmed death on June 18.

Barnsley has not recorded a new coronavirus death in over two weeks, while Leeds, Harrogate and Sheffield have not recorded new deaths for 11, 10 and 8 consecutive days respectively.

A further 12 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 29,303, reports NHS England.

Patients were aged between 45 and 99 years old. All had known underlying health conditions. Their families have been informed.
