One more life lost to coronavirus in Yorkshire as new figures released

One more person who tested positive for coronavirus has died in Yorkshire.

The patient was being cared for at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.

This brings the total number of coronavirus deaths recorded in our county’s hospitals since the outbreak started to 2,578.

The majority of NHS Trusts in Yorkshire has not recorded any coronavirus-related deaths for a number of weeks.

Leeds has gone 25 consecutive days now with no new Covid-19 deaths, Barnsley 30, Harrogate 20 and York 49 days (seven weeks).

Other areas such as Airedale, Rotherham and Bradford have also not recorded any new coronavirus-related deaths for a number of days.

Today’s figures released by the NHS show England’s death toll has increased by ten in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 29,411.
