A prominent minister from the Conservative party has admitted that the northern transport infrastructure of the city is just crap. Further, he has failed to give confirmation on the project of HS2. According to him, it is not clear whether HS2 will reach Leeds or not.
Jake Berry MP, the minister of Northern Powerhouse gave a visit to Leeds today. he was there to make the announcement of the construction of two new and big hospitals in the city center of Leeds. This project will cost around £450 million.
Yesterday it was already revealed that HS2 probably not go to Leeds as it is a huge project and billions are supposed to be saved for the completion of the project.
This announcement came into headlines a few weeks after Mr. Berry admitted himself about the crappy condition of northern transport infrastructure. According to him, it does not feel good to say that rail infrastructure in the North, is still crap.
Mr. Berry was giving in a question and answer session in LeedsLive. There he was asked a question about the prospects of HS2 for reaching Leeds. He plainly refused to give any news or confirmation on this.
He further added that he would like to become the Prime Minister so that he could deliver the best to Northern Powerhouse Rail just like the way he struggled and delivered to Crossrail for all those who live in London.
