More coronavirus deaths recorded across four Yorkshire hospital trusts

There have been a further five coronavirus deaths confirmed in hospital trusts across Yorkshire, in the last 24 hours.

Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust recorded the most deaths in that time with two, while most hospital trusts recorded no further deaths.

Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, and The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust all recorded one further death in the 24 hours to 5pm on Saturday (June 27).

The NHS has also confirmed that there have been a further 18 coronavirus deaths recorded across England in the same time period.

This brings the total number of coronavirus deaths in English hospitals to 28,653.

Of the deaths announced in the last 24 hours in England, patients were aged between 43 and 95 years old. One patient, aged 48, had no known underlying health conditions. Their families have been informed.

This comes as prime minister Boris Johnson has been accused of suggesting that coronavirus is “all over” by the first minister of Wales, Mark Drakeford.

Mr Drakeford said expressed his concerns that the easing of lockdown in England is giving people the impression that life can return to normal.
