Located just a short distance out of the city centre, Kirkstall Abbey is beautifully preserved, offering visitors an opportunity to walk through the ruins. The abbey is located beside the River Aire, making it the perfect starting point for a relaxing stroll by the water.

Founded over 800 years ago in 1152, discover more about this iconic Leeds landmark and what life was like for the Cistercian monks who lived here for nearly 400 years.

Kirkstall Abbey is directly across the road from Abbey House Museum, this is a great opportunity to make a day out for all the family.

The Abbey House Museum is also well worth a visit. Here you can wander Victorian streets lined with shops and services featuring their original shop fittings. Kirkstall Abbey is in Kirkstall, 4 miles (6.4km) northwest of Leeds city centre in West Yorkshire. The nearest train stations are Burley Park and Leeds.
