Hope as no coronavirus deaths recorded in Yorkshire hospitals

Hospital trusts across Yorkshire have not recorded a single coronavirus -related death in the past 24 hours.

It means the current total number of deaths recorded by hospitals in the county stands at 2,580.

There were two deaths recorded by Yorkshire hospitals yesterday, these were at Calderdale and HuddersfieldNHS Foundation Trust and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

In England, a further six people who tested positive for the virus have died, which brings the total number of confirmed reported deaths in English hospitals to 29,425.

Of the six deaths recorded in England today, the patients were aged between 46 and 96 years old and all had known underlying health conditions.

It comes as parts of West Yorkshire remain in a local lockdown.

People in Calderdale, Kirklees and Bradford are banned from meeting people outside their household or bubble in private homes or gardens, though gatherings outside in public spaces of six or less are permitted.

Bradford continues to have the third-highest infection rate in the country.
