Four more COVID-19 deaths recorded in Yorkshire hospitals

There have been a further four coronavirus -related deaths confirmed in hospitals across Yorkshire during the last 24 hours.

While most hospital trusts in the region recorded no further deaths, four trusts recorded one death each.

These were Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust, Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust.

This brings the total number of people who have died of the virus in Yorkshire hospitals to 2,556.

In hospitals across England, a further 19 people who had tested positive for the virus have died in the last day.

Patients were aged between 35 and 89 years old and all of them had known underlying health conditions.

The total number of people to have died from the coronavirus in English hospitals now stands at 29,231.
