From working variously in hospitality, music and design, Rob Hallas happily fell victim to his greatest passion – cooking. With influences such as Dali and Blumenthal, he intends to deliver five hours of ‘creative wonderfulness’ during an evening at Chow Down which celebrates fresh local talent.
A collection of creatives will be working alongside one another in a showcase of food, art and music. Culinary craziness, live art and music will combine in one extraordinary session.
Rob’s Bastards Bistro evolved from his experience of working in nightclubs and at festivals, from street food to fine dining, and those combined and contrasting styles polished over time are reflected in his current style.
Rob’s collaborating with long-time friend Rob Chadwick to deliver a culinary experience with visuals with the ethos ‘Food cooked with booze, served with booze – eat like a pig; drink like a Bxxxxxd’. The original idea was to serve each dish that contains the same alcohol as its paired drink. It’s all a bit of fun and a nod to those who would normally be happy eating steak and chips. The music to accompany the culinary experience will also be a surprise – not what you would expect when fine dining!
So – if you’re up for an interactive and immersive dining experience which is multi-sensory and celebrates creativity, you’ll find both of the Robs at Chow Down, Temple Arches, on 26 May from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. Tickets are £50 per person plus £20 per person for drinks. Bookings are for groups of up to 6 people. Tickets available via Eventbrite – https://www.eventbrite.com
